WHAT WE BELIEVE
Renaissance Christian has always taken matters of doctrine very seriously. The following “Essential Doctrines” represent those matters on which at least one parent in a family must agree in order for the family to be admitted to Renaissance Christian. They do not, however, represent an exhaustive list of all that we teach regarding Christian doctrine. While we do not require students or their parents to agree with doctrinal positions we may take that are not articulated below, we do require parents to acknowledge and accept that their child(ren) will be taught these things as non-negotiable Biblical truth and to refrain from creating disunity within the school community by aggressively or stridently debating the same.
We believe in God, who created and sustains the universe.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's son, who was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life and was crucified on the cross for our sins and rose from the grave three days later. He is now reigning in Heaven and will return to judge mankind and take his people home to eternity.
We believe that sin separates mankind from God and that Christ's death, burial and resurrection make up the core of the gospel, (Good News) that saves us. All of our sins were laid upon Jesus Christ and the debts of our sins were paid in full on the cross.
We believe that our salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We can do nothing to merit our salvation. Forgiveness and justification is the work of God.
We believe that our faith expresses itself in repentance, confession and baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus. Repentance is our desire to turn away from our sinful behavior and baptism is our “pledge of a good conscience” and a public commitment of our obedience to follow and worship Jesus as Lord.
We believe in the Holy Spirit who lives in baptized believers and calls us to lead a life of discipleship that reflects the life of Jesus. As Christians, a true appreciation of his grace will encourage us to do what is right not what is wrong. Grace is not our license to sin, but rather will lead us to become more grateful for the wonderful mercy shown by God and motivate us to acts of service in his name.
We believe in the Bible, as the inspired word of God, which reveals the heart of God through his powerful acts of love and mercy on his people. It is our guide and ultimate authority for all spiritual matters.
We believe that the role of the local church is to exalt God the father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit; encourage fellow Christians towards spiritual maturity; equip Christians for ministry; evangelize our community and the world for Christ and edify each other by providing a sense of belonging through sharing mutual joys and burdens.
