Renaissance Christian School of Excellence HISTORY Renaissance Christian opened its doors in 2007, with a vision to begin a school that offered students a classical education that included parents as partners in their child's education. We have almost completed our second academic year, and we believe the Lord is doing some remarkable work at the school. We are excited to see the future unfold as we remain faithful to the daily tasks that lay before us. MISSION STATEMENT The mission of Renaissance Christian School of Excellence is to glorify God through the discipleship of students and the pursuit of excellence in education with the Bible as the foundation and Jesus Christ as our focus. The vision of Renaissance Christian School of Excellence is to shape an intimate, supportive, engaging school community - where classes are small and personalized, where parents are partners, where teachers teach with passion and commitment. Where adults model and the students develop and live the values of caring, respect, honesty, justice and self-discipline. It is our desire to generate a transforming experience for each student at an age when they are forging their identities and lifetime aspirations and to cultivate in them the belief that they are the masters of their own destinies: each one worthy of greatness and goodness, each one capable of and responsible for serving the community and the world around them while helping them to grow in their understanding of God so that they may become mature and live their lives to the fullest where God has called them. EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY Everything we undertake to accomplish with our students at Renaissance Christian is built upon an underlying philosophy of education that has at its root in three main tenets. First, we believe that all knowledge and understanding originates in God and is best learned in an atmosphere that recognizes His pre-eminence in life. Second, we believe that each student is unique in his gifts and abilities and in the purpose for which he was created and therefore resist a “one size fits all” approach. Third, we believe God has given parents the principle role in overseeing the education of their children and our role is to assist them in doing so. CORE VALUES Christ Centered: The knowledge of God is the beginning of wisdom. Renaissance Christian concentrates on building the spiritual stature of our students and staff. This is done through daily devotions, having Biblical instruction as part of our core curriculum and modeling Christian principles for positive character development. Academic Excellence: The philosophies and instuctional methods of Renaissance Christian are based on the belief that every child has the ability to learn. Through the use of differentiated education, multi-age and multi-grade classrooms and skill assessments, we are able to help each child achieve his or her highest potential. Family Focused: The level of parent involvement vital to student success is assured through parent compacts and commitment to direct participation in the daily life of the school, as well as parent partnership in the development of their child's personal educational plan Service Orientated: Renaissance Christian will strive to equip our students with leadership skills for service. We encourage students to become active, conscientious and respectful citizens within the RCSE family, as well as within our larger society. |
